Ryanair, the birth of an air giant

Founded in 1985 in Ireland, Ryanair, in contrast to Air France, is a low-cost airline. Ryanair, though it started with small routes between Waterford, a small town in the south of Ireland, and London, is now one of the leaders in the market. Over the years, Ryanair has grown to become a world-renowned group, owning several airlines such as Buzz, Lauda, Malta Air and of course, Ryanair.
With approximately 150 million passengers each year and 79 air bases, Ryanair is the company carrying the largest number of international passengers in Europe. Ryanair's flights cover 40 countries around the world.

Ryanair group aircraft

The Ryanair group comprises 4 airlines: Buzz, Malta Air, Lauda & Ryanair
Each subsidiary of the group is present in one country. This allows Ryanair to not only have an international presence but also to protect itself against certain political decisions such as Brexit for example and therefore secure its offer in the long term.
Unlike its direct competitor EasyJet, Ryanair only owns Boeing aircraft.

Ryanair services

Like trains, Ryanair offers various fares and benefits on its planes.

The "Value" tariff

"Value" is the cheapest ticket from Ryanair. From this fare, Kombo will check in with the airline for you.
This fare is perfectly suited for passengers with little luggage who don't care which seat they will be assigned to.
Ryanair's "Value" fare, as on some low cost trains, only allows you to take a small bag measuring 40 x 20 x 25 cm for free.
You can add more luggage in the cabin or in the hold, by paying a supplement
On board, you will have the choice to buy sandwiches, hot, cold drinks or alcohol like beer, wine and spirits.
Ryanair does not offer in-flight entertainment. But the trip will go by so quickly that you won't even need it, as Ryanair flights are often less than 2 or 3 hours. We advise you to bring a book with you or download an episode or two of your favourite series.
For Ryanair luggage: generally the maximum weight per piece of luggage authorised by Ryanair is 10 kilos for a small wheeled suitcase (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm) which will go with you in the cabin and 20 kilos for a hold luggage.

The "Regular" rate

This new Ryanair fare is ideal for frequent travellers. With this fare, it is possible to take 2 pieces of luggage for free: one hand luggage + one cabin luggage of maximum 10 kilos.
By choosing this fare, when you check in you will be able to reserve the standard seat you want. You will also have the status of "priority" which will allow you not to wait in the boarding queue.
For food and entertainment you will have to pay a supplement.

The "plus" rate

Ryanair has made this special fare for holidaymakers who often have several suitcases with them. With this fare you can take a small bag with you but also a 20 kilo piece of luggage that will go in the hold. As with the "Regular" fare, Ryanair allows you to reserve your standard seat so that you don't end up in the middle of 2 people for example. With Ryanair, check-in is normally done online for free up to 2 hours before travel. But if you forget to do it, you'll have to check in at the airport, and Ryanair will charge you around €50 per passenger. Luckily with Kombo, this will never happen as we do the check-in for you.

The "Flexi Plus" tariff

This is Ryanair's premium fare. It offers more flexibility. With this ticket, you will be able to bring 1 small bag for free, but also a small suitcase of maximum 10 kilos.
You will also be able to reserve the seat you want in the whole plane. You can also reserve the seat you want in the whole plane, so you can have more space for your legs or be next to the window to see the landscape during the trip. In addition to that, you will be able to check in at the airport for free but above all, change or modify your ticket without any additional costs. Indeed, until the last moment you can change your destination, schedule and even departure airport.

The "Family Plus" rate

Ryanair also thinks of families. This fare is perfectly adapted if you are travelling with several people and if you are loaded. Each family member is entitled to 1 piece of hand luggage and 2 pieces of cabin luggage of a maximum of 10kg. In addition, the family will be entitled to 2 pieces of hold luggage of 20kg maximum.
Finally, so that you can stay next to each other, Ryanair has decided to offer a choice of seat locations for children.

How to pay less for your plane tickets?

Whether it's Ryanair, Air France, Lufthansa, American Airlines, Easyjet, Transavia, or any airline, you need to be aware that on each route, there are a set number of tickets, reserved at the best prices. So the earlier you buy your Ryanair ticket, the cheaper it will be.

Your Ryanair boarding passes directly on Kombo:

Once you have purchased your Ryanair tickets on Kombo, you can retrieve them at any time from your customer area. From 48 hours before departure, you normally have to download the application and check in yourself. But this is not always easy. That's why on Kombo we check you in automatically and your boarding passes will be sent to you directly by email.
