The Swiss railway network is operated by the company SBB (FFS in Italian and CFF in French), and despite the different names, it is always the same railway company. SBB offers the opportunity to easily explore all Swiss Cantons and enjoy some of the most spectacular views in the world directly from the train window. The dense network of connections ensures regular train departures, while direct links with Italy from various cities make travel even more convenient. With your electronic ticket, you can travel safely without having to face long queues. This railway network even connects the most remote locations, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
FFS forms the core of the modern and well-structured Swiss railway network. Thanks to the sophisticated technology with which they are designed, trains represent the ideal means to explore Switzerland and admire breathtaking landscapes that unfold between mountains, lakes, and hills, where nature reigns supreme. FFS manages passenger traffic on a national scale, connecting major cities such as Bern, Basel, Geneva, and Zurich, and providing connections to major airports.

FAQ
Can I buy SBB train tickets online?
Sure, you can purchase your SBB train tickets here on Kombo! You can conveniently have them on your phone in PDF format. You don't need a printer to travel.
How can I find the cheapest FFS tickets?
To always know which ticket to buy, simply conduct a search specifying the departure date and destination. This way, the Kombo search engine will compare all tickets, offers, and various types of trains that best suit your travel needs. And that's not all; you can use filters to speed up your search and select the fastest, cheapest, and so on!
Is there WiFi on the trains?
WiFi is available on all trains, although it may not always work. However, the WiFi network is extensive and will allow you to use the internet from your device.
Do children need to pay for a ticket?
Children under 6 years old, when accompanied, travel for free and do not need a ticket. If the accompanying person is over 12 years old, up to 4 children can travel at no additional cost.
To offer additional benefits to children, various cards are available that allow them to take advantage of special offers for different periods, such as a day, a month, or a year. These cards aim to make travel more accessible and convenient for families with children.
Can I travel with a bicycle?
Most FFS trains offer the possibility to transport bicycles. It is necessary to register the bicycle in advance when booking the trip by purchasing a specific bicycle ticket.
However, if the bicycle is disassembled and placed in a suitcase, with the removal of the front wheel, it is considered as hand luggage and can be transported at no additional cost. This option provides flexibility to travelers who want to bring their bicycles with them in a practical and convenient way.
Can I travel with my dog?
For dogs of any size, you must pay half the price of 2nd class or the minimum price provided (daily dog card, dog pass). The dog must sit under your seat to allow passage for other passengers.
There is an exception: small dogs up to 30 cm in height can accompany you for free if they travel in carriers, bags, or other suitable containers for animals to be placed under the seat – just like hand luggage. However, if they are outside the container, they need a transport ticket.
